first_img Lazio star Felipe Anderson 1 Lazio have denied recent reports that star midfielder Felipe Anderson is set for a £47million switch to Manchester United in the summer.On Monday it was claimed in the Italian press that club president Claudio Lotito revealed he had agreed to sell the 22-year-old Brazilian playmaker to United for €60million [around £46.9m].But the Serie A side dismissed the rumours just hours after the initial reports, insisting the comments attributed to Lazio chief Lotito were ‘devoid of any foundation’.A statement published on Lazio’s official website read: “In reference to statements attributed to president Claudio Lotito regarding the alleged sale of Felipe Anderson, Lazio can confirm they are devoid of any foundation.”Italian outlets Il Messaggero and Calciomercato claimed Lotito was overheard by journalists saying Anderson was on his way to Old Trafford, while speaking to colleagues at Serie B side Salernitana’s match against Crotone on Sunday.Anderson was heavily linked with a move to United over the January transfer window, but he eventually remained in Rome as a switch failed to materialise.The Brazil international has made 24 league appearances for the Biancocelesti this season, scoring six goals, and netted 11 times last term.last_img
