Wellington Regent holding special double feature of Godzilla on Friday

first_imgby Tracy McCue, Sumner Newscow — Godzilla has been terrorizing Tokyo and the rest of the world for more than 60 years. He (or she) has never been in a good mood. Someone give him/her some flowers or a great big chocolate chip cookie or something!This Friday night, Wellington Regent Theater will be hosting a double feature of Godzilla movies. The 2014 version will be played in all its modern technology glory. That movie is set for 7 p.m.The second feature will be the original “Godzilla” called “Gojira” at 9:30 p.m. This one is the 1954 version in which the cranky lizard unleashed his/her fury on Tokyo. Regent theater manager Jerry Fike got a hold of the original movie and it will be featured on the big screen here in Wellington for the first and only time in 60 years.There is a special price $8 for both movies and $5 for late show only.For those unable to go Friday, they can see the 2014 Godzilla throughout the weekend. The times are 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.The movie is getting great reviews. According to Rotten Tomatoes website for all collective movie critic reviews, it has a 73 percent positive success rating.The trailer for Godzilla 2014 is below.Âlast_img
